Bizarre. I took long walk around Rome this evening with some friends and the city seemed strangely empty. It’s not quite as warm as it was yesterday, and there was a little bit of lightening, but there was hardly anyone about.

We started in Piazza della Repubblica, then had a friend drive us to Trastevere. After a while, we crossed the Tiber and walked to Largo Argentina and the Pantheon, stopped for some gelato (marrons glaces, nutella, and torrone for me), then walked over to Piazza di Spagna, Piazza del Popolo, Villa Borghese, back to Spagna, and down Via Sistina to Piazza Barberini.

The strangest sensation was standing at the top of the Spanish Steps, looking out over the Piazza and Via Condotti, with only one other couple. Tutto per noi.
